Yes Google can do it for you and free of cost. For it you need an account with Google i.e you need a gmail account. To store your mobile phone numbers first of all you will have to back up your contacts. Most of the phones have the facility of taking a backup of contacts. After taking the backup transfer the backup file to your computer. Gmail supports importing CSV files from almost all email service providers like Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Eudora, vCard from apps like Apple Address Book and some other apps. 

It is easy to create and edit CSV(Comma Separated Values) files Use CSV files in Spreadsheet programs like Google Spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel to import and export contacts. CSV file should be formatted as a table and must include a header, or first line, that defines the fields in your table. Gmail accepts many common header fields (name, email address, etc.). The CSV file may be in the following format –

First Name	Last Name	Email Address	Home Address	Mobile Number
Surendra	Ghorewala	……….@gmail.com	Spear Head House, Broad Way, Fatehpur	9430000000

The file must include the email Field and name field may be of single column.

How to Save  contacts in Gmail

When your CSV(Comma Separated Values) file is ready login to your Gmail account and click the drop down box as indicated in the picture below –

Now the following screen will appear –

 Now click contacts as pointed by the red arrow. Now the following screen will appear –

Now click the drop down arrow as pointed by the red arrow. Now the following screen will appear –

Now click on Import as pointed by the red arrow. Now the following screen will appear –

Now click “Browse” as pointed by the red arrow to locate your CSV file from which you intend to import the contacts. Now the following screen will appear –

Now your csv file will appear in the list, if not you can locate it manually and select the file and click “Import”. When the import is complete, Gmail will display the number of contacts imported.

Now your contacts are safe with google.
