    How to remove the problem black screen when Computer starts Windows 7 - Some times while we boot our computer appears black. Though soon after booting we go to other program and it disappears but whenever we go to our desktop or our computer is idle, it appears again and it looks very awkward. Video adapter problems are the most common cause of this issue but sometimes some other problems may also cause. Please try the following troubleshooting procedures, in order. If the steps in the first procedure don't fix the problem, move on to the next procedure.

    How to reinstall your video driver to remove black screen on computer start

    1. Right-click the taskbar.

    2. Click Start Task Manager.

    3. Click the Processes tab. 

    4. Click explorer.exe.

    5. Click End Process.

    6. Click File. 

    7. Click New Task (Run).(A Text box will open)

    8. In the Open text box, enter ‘explorer.exe’. 

    9.  Click OK. 

    10. Click the Start button. In the search box enter ‘device manager’. 

    11. Locate the ‘Device Manager’ in the search results and click it. 

    12. Double-click Display adapters.

    13. Right-click your display device.

    14. Click Update Driver Software, and then follow carefully the steps in the wizard that appears.
    (After the driver is reinstalled, you might need to restart your computer again to complete the installation. You might also need to adjust the screen resolution to its previous setting.)

    How to check registry related issues to remove black screen on computer start

    If your problem is solved it’s OK, otherwise try these steps to check for registry related issues -.

    1. Right-click the taskbar.

    2. Click Start Task Manager.

    3. Click the Processes tab.

    4. Click explorer.exe, and then click End Process.

    5. Click File, and then click New Task (Run) ).( A Text box will open) 

    6. Enter explorer.exe, in the Open text box, and click OK. 

    7. Click the Start button. 

    8. Enter ‘regedit’ in the search box, 

    9. Click ‘regedit.exe’ in the search results,. 

    10. Locate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    11. Click to select the ‘WinLogon key’.

    12. Click ‘Shell’ in the right pane,. The value of Shell in the Data column should be explorer.exe. If the value of Shell isn't explorer.exe, double-click Shell, and then, in the Value data text field, enter explorer.exe, and then click OK.

    13. Close the registry editor, and then restart your PC.

    If these steps solved the problem, you're done. If not, go on to the next set of steps.

    How to run System Restore to remove black screen on computer start

    1. Click the Start button. 

    2. Click the arrow next to Shut Down. 

    3. Click Restart. 

    4. If your computer has a single operating system –(1) Press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. Please press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If you failed to do so, don’t disturb the boot process but let the computer boot normally and then restart again. 

    5. If your computer has multiple operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8. 

    6. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode, and then press Enter.

    7. Log on to your computer with administrator rights. 

    8. When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your monitor. 

    9. Click the Start. 

    10/ Type "system restore" in the search box. 

    11. Click System Restore. 

    12. Click Next.(You may be prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.) 

    13. Choose a restore point when your PC was working normal. 

    14. Click Next.

    15. Click Finish.

    16. Restart your computer normally.

    If these steps solve the problem, its OK. If not, repeat the steps selecting an older restore point. If that still doesn't solve the problem, It may be in your hardware so contact your computer manufacturer or other technical support for assistance.
